about us

Our Values

We value our relationship with Jesus Christ because knowing God is our highest priority and it is the foundation upon which all else is built.

We value the Word of God which exposes people to a course of action as well as to a body of truth.

We value worship that is intimate, dynamic, relevant, honours God, desires to experience His presence and encourages us to offer our whole lives in worship to Him.

We value prayer as a means of knowing God, and desire to see God's purpose fulfilled through it in our lives and in everything we do as a church family.

We value relationships with each other because not only are we all a part of God's family but we want to commit ourselves to what He is committed to - growing a healthy body. To that end, we desire to have open and genuine relationships which are built on God's love, mutual responsibility and faithfulness.

We value ministry that places our highest priority of knowing God put into action. We do this by extending the love and mercy of God in practical and meaningful ways which stimulates our own spiritual growth and encourages others to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. each possessing all the attributes of deity, being equal in power and glory.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and experienced a virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and after His sacrificial death for all mankind was physically resurrected. He is now in Heaven interceding for all believers and will one day return to earth in power and glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who among His various ministries, creates new spiritual life. He lives in the life of all who profess faith in Christ, makes holy, guides and empowers all believers. Through His gifts He equips all believers for ministry in the church and to the world.

We believe in the Bible as God's inspired word, without error in the original documents, and is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in the salvation of lost and sinful people through God's grace, and not by human effort. Salvation occurs by an act of personal repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe in the physical resurrection both of the saved and the lost; the saved to enjoy eternal fellowship with God and the lost to experience eternal separation from God.

We believe in water baptism by immersion and an open communion table for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

For more details, please view our Statement of Faith - PDF or WORD.

Covenant of Fellowship

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

  • To walk together in Christian love
  • To exercise Christian care and watchfulness over one another
  • To pray with and for one another, sharing burdens, sorrows & joys
  • To be thoughtful and courteous to one another, to be slow to take offence, and to be quick to forgive & seek forgiveness
  • To guard the spiritual & scriptural purity, peace and prosperity of the church and its growth in scriptural knowledge and godliness
  • To assist, as the Lord enables, in the work of the Church and to promote its usefulness as a witness to the saving grace of God in Christ Jesus
  • To contribute as the Lord directs, to financial support of the Church, the relief of the needy, and the evangelisation of all people
  • To love & pray for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ
  • To engage regularly in personal Bible reading & prayer, & to establish family devotions where possible
  • To bring up such children as may be entrusted to our care, in the nurture & admonition of the Lord
  • To walk circumspectly in the world, to provide things honest in the sight of all men, to be faithful in engagements, exemplary in deportment, denying ungodliness & worldly lusts
  • To encourage & support the "Body of Christ" in its worship services
  • to witness to our Unity in Christ by participating in the ordinances of the Lord's Supper whenever possible
  • To endeavour by example, by word & by prayer to win others to an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord

administrator

Administrator, Belinda Irwin

Belinda joined the staff in September 2007 when the Administrator position was created. This job is an answer to prayer for her and she realizes the Lord had been preparing her for it with experiences from the past couple of years. It is amazing to look back and see how the hand of God led Belinda to where she is today and she praises Him for all that He has provided. She is happily married with two wonderful children, two dogs, three cats and three horses! Belinda counts her blessings everyday and she considers it the highest blessing to be able to serve her Lord, her church and her community as Administrator of Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church.

They can be contacted at the Church Office.
